2003 Quarters

THE final stages of junior school football’s Totty Cup are well under way.

Swinton Queen meet Brampton Ellis at Wath Central Junior School for a place in the final of the South Yorkshire Times-sponsored event.

Swinton Queen beat Rawmarsh Rosehill 6-1 in their quarter final in February, Nathan Clarke the hero, scoring a hat-trick, Ashley Linacre (2) and Keeley Anglesea with the other goals.

Rosehill’s goal came from Josh Stebel.

Brampton Ellis triumphed 6-2 over Bolton Heathergarth in their quarter-final match. Brampton’s goalscorers were Matthew Brammer (2), Luke Norbury, Liam Smith, Shaun Lazenby and Jake Hardcastle – Josh Bull and Jack Georgeson netting for Heathergarth.

Last year’s beaten finalists The Hill Primary, Thurnscoe, beat Dearne Carrfield who won last year’s Barlow Salmon’s Shield. A goal apiece from George Burnitt Hutchinson, Jamie Lynch, Elliott Goddard and Danny Conley helped The Hill to a 4-2 victory, Jonathan Holmes and Josh Senior on the scoresheet for Carrfield. Carrfield manager Steve Corns described it as a “good quality junior school game.”

The Hill now await the winners of the one remaining quarter-final, Thurnscoe Gooseacre against Rawmarsh Monkwood.
