Pete Sylvester (CMP) remembers the final (and semi) being played at Highgate School.   They won the semi-final 4-1 or 4-2

Garry Simms remembers: “It was supposed to be played at the LNER ground but it was water-logged.  It was played at Highgate instead.  This pitch was smaller and suited Thurnscoe Hill.  The week after the two teams met in the Sheffield Cup at the LNER ground and Queen won 7-0”
