Peter Hilton writes: There seems to be a bit of confusion about what year the Highgate v St Alban’s final was. It was 1961. I played for St Alban’s. It went to a replay after a 0-0 draw. The first game was at Denaby United’s ground, Tickhill Square. Was the replay at Dearne Welfare? I’m not sure about that. Anyway, Highgate won 1-0.
James McGuckin writes: I played as no 11 along with Mick Pendergast, Raymond Harrison was the goalkeeper for our side St Albans in red and black quarter shirts and black shorts. I got the ball in our half dribbled up to the 8 yard line open goal and kicked it over the bar. I was gutted. Eddie Barnes and Micky Noonan were in our side. Runners up. Tut tut

When I played we had black shorts with the red and black quarter shirts and Mrs Fitzwilliam was coach
I don’t recognise that team
It could be that the year is wrong.
