Albert Jones was in charge of football at Mexborough Schofield Street school (Junior Boys) after he was released from the army in 1946.  He wrote “We definitely played in the Totty Cup 1947/48/49 and lost in one final to Darfield CP”. It would have been 1948.

Kevin McHale (Huddersfield Town) played with Darfield in the 1949 final against Bolton at Goldthorpe.  He remembers winning but not the score. Kevin has sent the picture in which he is holding the ball.  He also believes that Darfield won it for the next two years.
