THREE superb goals fired Gooseacre Primary into the Totty Cup final after a close fought battle with Swinton Brookfield.
Robbie Miller fired in a free kick off the underside of the crossbar to put Gooseacre ahead before Jack Carter drilled home from outside of the area to give the Thurnscoe side a two goal margin.
But Brookfield fought back and were soon level thanks to an excellent pair of strikes from Theo Cliffe, ensuring parity at the break and setting the scene for an interesting second period.
The atmosphere was tense with each side desperate not to give an inch to the other. But Gooseacre found a way in. Miller drifted over a free kick which Carter drilled home to put his side back in front.
Brookfield surged on in search of the equaliser and dominated possession, only to find a Gooseacre defence unwilling to let anything by.
After a tense closing period, Gooseacre held on to seal their place in the final where they will meet either Rawmarsh Monkwood or Dearne Lacewood.
Brookfield will now contest the Barlow-Salmons Shield with the other losing semi finalist.
A date for the double header of finals has yet to be set but it will take place at Swinton Community School.
