Two goals in extra-time swung this match in Kilnhurst’s favour.
It was Thurnscoe Hill that were quick out of the blocks with a solo goal from Stanley within two minutes. Before half-time Kilnhurst had turned the game around with a goal from George Whittingham and then Jack Mangham follwed up on Whittingham’s shot that hit the bar.
Stanley Cusworth equalised for the Hill when he followed up after the ball slipped from the keeper’s grasp. Max Trott marshalled the danger posed by Stanley C. Both teams had chances to win it in normal time.
The difference came in extra-time when Charlie Beever crossed for Jack Mangham to direct his shot in off the post. As Hill pushed for an equaliser, Beever sealed it for Kilnhurst.
