2026 Gordon Swann Cup

Wath C of E 8 1 Brampton Ellis

⚽Arlo Jones Sam Jones ⚽Archie Adams ⚽Ricco Robertson Corben Hackleton
⚽Callum Gate

Wath C of E were worthy winners of the Gordon Swann Cup against a spirited Brampton Ellis.

Arlo Jones opened the scoring for C of E within a minute. This lead was extended when an Archie Adams corner went in off an Ellis defender.

Edward Hill in the Brampton goal kept the score down before his team were awarded a penalty which was confidently scored by Callum Gate.

Gate then almost forced an equaliser after making a chance out of nothing which was saved by William Braham.

This would be the nearest Brampton would get to parity as C of E started the second half quickly when Adams intercepted a goal kick and fed Sam Jones to make it 3-1.

A potentially historic* goal came next as Corben Hackleton headed in for the fourth, before Adams finished off his own parried shot to make it five.

Arlo Jones completed his hat-trick with a close range brace and Ricco Robertson completed the scoring for Brampton after some good dribbling.

Charlie Scales, Harry Bray and Harry Hardware all went close to a Brampton goal, but Wath C of E were outstanding througout the team.

*Next year, it looks likely that we will follow FA guidelines and go to 7-a-side at U11. This change also outlaws deliberate heading.
