Phil Green

Phil Green captained Rawmarsh Monkwood to Totty Cup victory in 1979 – scoring all the goals in the final & replay. Phil is pictured in February 2024 with his silverware from ’79 and a copy of the centrenary book which shows his goal in the final (although he is out of shot).

Phil believes that Dennis Lound’s photographs from the Totty Cup final helped him on the way to sign as a schoolboy player for Rotherham United – playing against Paul Gascoigne (RUFC Youth team beat Newcastle United twice in one season).

Phil is furthest right (10) volleys in the opener against Thurnscoe Hill.
