The West Shield is a revived secondary school competition in the Don & Dearne region of South Yorkshire.
It was started by the Dearne Valley School Association in 1922 and played up until 1970. It was the equivalent to the Totty Cup (which has been played by primary schools since 1923) but at intermediate secondary level.
In 2026, it is planned to restart the West Shield. The first tournament will be a 6-a-side tournament (squads of 10) on the 4G at Dearne ALC on the afternoon of Thursday 11th June (2pm start).
Invited schools: Dearne, Wath, Swinton, Rawmarsh, Mexborough, St. Pius
