Lacewood have dominated Don & Dearne competitions in two spells since the turn of the millenium.  The second spell of 4 Totty Cup finals in 5 years has always had a Middleton in the team.

Jayden’s first final was 2015 when Lacewood beat Carrfield 2-0 in the Battle of Bolton I.

In 2016, Jayden & Lacewood faced Wath C of E, who hadn’t played in a Totty Cup final for 80 years – but managed to win 6-3.

After a year off in 2017, Franklin followed the Middleton tradition by playing in his first Totty Cup final in 2018.  This was the Battle of Bolton II and the first match finished 2-2 after extra-time and extra-extra time!  A replay at Dearnside school was won by Carrfield 2-1.

In 2019, Franklin matched his brother’s Totty Cup medal haul, with a 3-2 victory against Rawmarsh Thorogate.

In 2023 Preston managed to continue the family’s run by playing in the all Bolton Barlow-Salmons final for Lacewood against Carrfield.

In 1967, their great-uncle, Ray Middleton, played in the Totty Cup final for Thurnscoe Hill.

In 2021, Jayden refereed the final between Fitzwilliam and Sandhill.

Jayden was a Totty Cup runner-up in 2016

Franklin was a Totty Cup runner-up in 2018

The lads’ grandfather, Rob Middleton, played for Thurscoe Houghton Road in the 1954-55 season. We expect that this team played in the early rounds of the Totty Cup.
